SHOREDITCH STREET STALL: Chicken Shawarma + Drink”

Shoreditch is renowned for the hustle and bustle, or to some the city within a city. Shoreditch quite literally never sleeps, so whether you’re bored on your lunch break or on a friday night, pop down to Shoreditch high street and you’re sure to find somewhere cool to eat, drink or just chill out. Psst: There’s almost always a freebie up for grabs near Box Park and hey who doesn’t love a freebie?

– THE LOCATION –  ★★★★★

“Chicken Shawarma + Drink” is cleverly located next to Shoreditch High Street station and Box Park on Bethnal Green Road. It is one of the few delicious street food stalls stood side by side each other.

“GOOD PRICE GOOD FOOD, WHAT ELSE COULD YOU WANT?”

It is impossible to miss especially if you walk past at peak lunch time hours , where there is a guaranteed buzzing and lengthly queue. I don’t know about you but I have always been somewhat a skeptic when it comes to street food, perhaps it’s the boujee in me that likes the safe confines of a aesthetically pleasing restaurant. Nonetheless, whenever you see a queue as long as your arm, it’s usually a good sign.

 – THE PRICE –   £ ★★★☆

Although I am a money savvy student, I don’t always want to make a cheese sandwich to bring to work for lunch. I mean it gets a bit depressing . With this in mind, it is great to know that there are cheap and cheerful eats locally. “Chicken Shawarma + Drink” definitely fits into the cheap and cheerful category starting from £4.00 for a pretty hefty wrap (classified as small). I chose the small but honestly it filled me to the brim.

“DON’T WANNA SPEND AN ARM AND A LEG FOR LUNCH? THIS IS FOR YOU”

The menu consisted of:

Small: £4 and  Large: £5

Mixed Meat + Drink : Lamb, Sausage, Chicken, Haloumi and a choice of salads (Salad or Wrap option)

Haloumi Cheese and Salad + Drink

Chicken Sharwama + Drink

– THE TASTE –  ★★★☆☆

it's a wrapMuch to my surprise, this wrap was very flavoursome, and that is coming from an individual who has a genuine fear of bland food. The yellow peppers and mixed meats really complimented each other, so all in all it’s a yes from me.
